Website speed: why fast sites win customers

A visitor decides within moments whether to stay. A slow page loses them before they have read a word. This is how we build sites that feel instant.

Watch: built to perform

From wireframe to finished site, with the Lighthouse scores measured on soswebs.com.

How we build for speed

  • Static-first builds. Pages are prepared in advance, so the server has almost nothing to do when a visitor arrives.
  • Optimised images and code. Nothing is sent that the page does not need.
  • Good hosting. Domain and hosting are taken care of for you.

The aim is sub-second load times and excellent Core Web Vitals, the measurements Google uses for real-world page experience.

Check it yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. Lighthouse is a free tool built into the Chrome browser. Open any page, including ours, and run it. It scores performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO out of 100.

This website scores 100 in Lighthouse. Run the same test on your current site and compare.

Speed is not the only thing

Every site is also mobile-optimised and accessible by default: WCAG-conscious markup, keyboard navigation and strong contrast, so it works for everyone.

Common questions

My current site is slow. Can you fix it without rebuilding?

Often, yes. See redesigns and fixes.

Does a fast site rank better?

Page experience is one of the things search engines look at, and a fast site keeps more of the visitors you already get.
